Logistics startup Deliveree has secured a series C funding of US$70 million (approximately IDR 1.03 trillion) led by Gobi Partners and Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines (SPIL) Ventures. Existing investors, Inspire Ventures, participated.
Based on these data, the total funds collected over the last five years reached US$109 million, equivalent to IDR 1.6 trillion. Deliveree last raised funding in August 2020 in a Series B round of US$18.5 million (approximately IDR 273 billion).
Deliveree will use this Series C funding to increase market penetration and launch container cargo solutions. Deliveree Co-Founder & CEO Tom Kim also stated that the funds would be used to improve services for tens of thousands of businesses that rely on Deliveree daily.
This also goes hand in hand with Deliveree’s mission to make cargo transportation simple, affordable, flexible, and scalable for businesses of all sizes through digitization.
“This is realized through the strength of our marketplace platform that connects logistics customers with transportation networks and large service providers, which I call the ‘logistics mega marketplace’,” Kim explained in an official statement Monday (27/6).
Meanwhile, the Managing Partner of Gobi Partners, Kay Mok, said in the post-pandemic, Indonesia has the potential to experience inflation, which is also caused by supply chain problems.
“Deliveree builds the best technology platform that has been well tested by ‘marquee customers’ (credible customers). This will enable optimization and decrease total operational costs for the shipping and logistics industry, “he explained.
In line with that, SPIL Vice President Widarta Liunanda said that with a strategic investment in Deliveree, SPIL can provide strong supply chain operational capabilities and is a first in its industry by aligning land and sea transportation modes.
“This enables Deliveree’s technology platform to offer a broader logistics solution beyond land trucking with inter-island coverage, strategically supported by SPIL’s network of container ships serving all major ports in Indonesia,” said Widarta.
Deliveree claims gross transaction value (GMV) has grown 3.2 times over the past year and is targeting a GMV of US$ 100 million (around Rp. 1.4 trillion) this year.
