International Monetary Fund (IMF) has just projected that the global trade volume will grow by 8.1% this year. This positive trade volume will be in line with the global economy growth, in which IMF projected to grow by 5.5%, though it will be very various among the countries. India, according to IMF, will lead the growth by doble digit 11.5%, while the leading Asean countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam are projected to grow by 5.2%.
This is totally good news, as the pandemic have totally creating chaos in any sector. The pandemic Covid-19 outbreak has been totally hit the economy activities, resulting in the drop of trade volume last year (2020).
The pandemic pushed the global economy into the worst recession since. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), global economy was contracted by 3.5% (grew with minus 3.5%) last year. The pandemic forced a lock down in any activities, causing a significant drop in trade volume.
However, some many are sceptical, cynical, and disbelieving with this IMF projection, saying though the vaccine of pandemic have started working, but those who are sceptical said that the IMF is too optimistic. The economy will continue to run in uncertainty!
So, what to do? As companies around the world grapple with doing business in the shad of the pandemic, transformation strategies have been accelerated. In sector across the board, digitalization and new technologies that have started traditional ways of working have been embraced more urgency, creating new opportunities.
