Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) container throughput rose through August, driven by stronger international volumes and additional vessel calls, while terminals maintained operational efficiency above targets across facilities
PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) recorded container throughput of 2.03 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) through August, up 12.38% from the same period a year earlier, the company said.
The increase compared with 1.80 million TEUs in the same period last year and contributed to the overall performance of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, which recorded container throughput growth of 5.51% year-on-year during the period, TTL said.
International container throughput rose 78.69% to 389,682 TEUs from 218,076 TEUs a year earlier, while domestic throughput increased 3.27% to 1.64 million TEUs from 1.59 million TEUs.
The growth in international volumes was partly supported by 23 additional ad hoc international vessel calls at the Teluk Lamong Container Terminal, the company said.
At TPK Nilam, domestic container throughput increased 17% to 368,127 TEUs from 315,422 TEUs, while vessel calls rose 16% to 550.
Domestic throughput at TPK Berlian increased 4.1% to 916,026 TEUs from 880,153 TEUs in the same period last year.
The increase in container volumes was accompanied by operational efficiency above targets across TTL’s terminals, measured by the Effective Time/Berthing Time (ET/BT) indicator.
ET/BT at TPK Teluk Lamong International reached 87.93%, compared with a target of 81%, while TPK Teluk Lamong Domestic recorded 77.14%, against a target of 73%.
TPK Nilam recorded an ET/BT of 81.59%, exceeding its 78% target, while TPK Berlian reached 84.45%, compared with a target of 80%.
“Volume growth must go hand-in-hand with improvements in productivity and service quality,” TTL Corporate Secretary Syaiful Anam said.
“Therefore, TTL continues to ensure that operations across all terminals are effective, fast, and safe, while delivering the best possible service to our customers,” he added.
Syaiful said the performance through August would encourage the company to maintain its momentum through the end of the year by improving productivity and service quality.
TTL said its performance was aligned with Danantara Indonesia’s strategic agenda to strengthen service consistency and operational reliability, support smooth logistics flows and facilitate national trade activity.
The company said it was also working with stakeholders to improve loading and unloading efficiency and support supply-chain continuity.
On Aug. 4, TTL began trials of its EAZI optimization programme at TPK Berlian in cooperation with the Tanjung Perak Main Harbormaster Office (KSOP Utama).
The programme was aimed at accelerating vessel turnaround times and reducing waiting times between vessels, TTL said.
The company said it would continue developing operational initiatives and strengthening cooperation with stakeholders to improve productivity and service reliability.
