Enhanced Efficiency and Connectivity: Indonesia’s Container Depots Embrace NLE Connect

In a significant stride towards streamlining the logistics ecosystem, approximately 60% of container depot companies affiliated with the Association of Indonesian Container Depots (ASDEKI) have successfully integrated with the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) through the NLE Connect platform. This innovative digital web-based application aims to simplify the logistics integration process, especially for depot owners, by facilitating quicker operations management and reducing data recording errors.

ASDEKI’s Secretary-General, Khairul Mahali, shared the progress, stating that, while they have not yet achieved full integration (100%), they have made considerable headway, with 60% of their member companies now connected to NLE Connect. Moreover, they are actively working to expand their connectivity with inaportnet.

Currently, ASDEKI boasts 123 container depot companies as its members, collectively employing over 12,000 workers. These depots are strategically located across Sumatera Utara, Lampung, Sumatera Selatan, Kepulauan Riau, DKI Jakarta, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Sulawesi Selatan, and Kalimantan Timur.

Khairul emphasized ASDEKI’s role as a government partner in formulating regulations conducive to smooth cargo and container flow. He highlighted that their member depots already handle more than 75% of container movements in Indonesia, particularly supporting logistics activities at major ports such as Tanjung Priok, Belawan, Makassar, Tanjung Emas Semarang, and Tanjung Perak Surabaya.

ASDEKI is actively promoting the integration of container depot companies with NLE Connect. This move aligns with the government’s efforts to streamline logistics and offers several operational benefits to container depots:

  1. Online Booking: NLE Connect enables depots to make online bookings anytime and anywhere, simplifying loading and unloading processes by allowing flexible scheduling.
  2. Integration with INSW: NLE Connect seamlessly integrates with INSW, eliminating the need for redundant data entry. Users can input their Bill of Lading (BL) number, and all order details are automatically populated.
  3. Digital Payments: The platform facilitates digital payments for depot transactions, expediting the loading and unloading process as payments are settled beforehand.
  4. Diverse Payment Methods: NLE Connect offers various cashless payment options through virtual accounts, eliminating the need to navigate between different banks.
  5. Digital Document Access: Users can access important documents such as invoices, tax invoices, and loading/unloading receipts digitally or in print, simplifying archiving and operations.

Moreover, NLE Connect provides comprehensive monitoring and classification of all transactions, including loading and unloading activities, payments, and pending payments, ensuring accurate and organized data.

The platform also streamlines gate-in and gate-out processes, reducing data recording errors by eliminating the use of paper. Khairul emphasized that the user-friendly digital forms will accelerate field operations, reduce the risk of document loss or damage, and prevent fraudulent activities.

In conclusion, NLE Connect ensures that every container movement is fully documented, including container numbers, statuses, schedules, and weights, ultimately enhancing logistics services’ efficiency. ASDEKI’s dedication to embracing digitalization and connectivity through NLE Connect is a testament to their commitment to advancing Indonesia’s logistics landscape.
