Agreement with North Jakarta prosecutors strengthens legal support, risk management and governance as Indonesia’s port operator seeks greater compliance and certainty in business operations
PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM), a pilotage and towage service provider and subsidiary of state port operator Pelindo, has signed a cooperation agreement with the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office to strengthen legal risk management and corporate governance.
The agreement was signed on Aug. 6 by IPCM President Director Shanti Puruhita and North Jakarta District Prosecutor Syahrul Juaksha Subuki, and witnessed by Budi Prasetio, executive director of Pelindo Regional 2, the company said.
The agreement is intended to strengthen cooperation between IPCM and the prosecutor’s office in addressing civil and state administrative legal matters, including through litigation and non-litigation mechanisms.
Shanti said the agreement reflected IPCM’s commitment to conducting its business professionally and transparently while complying with applicable laws and regulations.
“As a public company that prioritizes GCG principles, IPCM continues to strengthen its governance aspects, including legal risk management,” Shanti said.
The cooperation is expected to provide legal assistance and advice to the company and support greater legal certainty in its business activities, she said.
Subuki said the Attorney General’s Office, through its State Attorney function, has the authority to provide legal assistance, legal advice and other legal services to state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries in accordance with applicable regulations.
The agreement aims to improve the effectiveness of handling and resolving civil and state administrative legal matters involving the two parties.
IPCM said the partnership would also support legal compliance and risk mitigation while strengthening corporate governance and business sustainability.
The company expects greater cooperation between businesses and law enforcement authorities to contribute to a transparent and integrity-based business environment and provide value for shareholders and other stakeholders.
