JICT Records a 5.8% Increase in Throughput for 2023

PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) marked a significant achievement in 2023 by handling a throughput of 2,124,002 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). This figure represents a notable 5.8% growth compared to the previous year’s throughput of 2,007,776 TEUs.

In addition to the impressive throughput, JICT also reported a total of 1,348 ship calls in 2023, further solidifying its status as the busiest container terminal in the Tanjung Priok port area.

This remarkable performance in 2023 stands as the highest throughput recorded by JICT in the last five years, with the data revealing a consistent growth trajectory since 2019. Specifically, the throughput figures for JICT in recent years are as follows: 2,085,691 TEUs in 2019, 1,805,319 TEUs in 2020, and 2,037,518 TEUs in 2021.

Industry experts in logistics attribute JICT’s growth in throughput to an increasing trend of trust and satisfaction among its customers, primarily shipping companies and cargo owners, who continuously leverage JICT’s facilities for their operations.
