Port visits assess market potential, operational readiness, safety standards and service quality as the Indonesian maritime services company seeks sustainable growth through strategic partnerships
PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM), a maritime services company within the Pelindo Group, is assessing market opportunities and operational readiness in Balikpapan and Tarakan as it seeks to expand its pilotage and towage services.
The company conducted management walkthroughs on Oct. 7-8, led by President Director Dwi Rahmad Toto, accompanied by Independent Commissioners Doni Istyanto Hari Mahdi and Mitchell Julius Tupamahu, as well as other senior executives and management representatives.
At Semayang Port in Balikpapan, the company assessed demand for pilotage and towage services, port activity trends and potential business synergies to support expansion in the strategic maritime hub.
The visit aimed to identify opportunities for business growth while ensuring that operational capabilities, service quality and governance standards remain aligned with the company’s expansion plans.
“Every business development opportunity must be backed by operational readiness, robust governance, safety standards and consistent service quality,” said Eddy Haristiani, IPCM’s executive vice president of corporate secretary.
At Malundung Port in Tarakan, the company reviewed its readiness to provide pilotage and towage services through its partnership with PT Langlang Laju Layang.
The assessment covered fleet readiness, personnel capabilities, safety procedures and service quality. Management also reviewed operational execution and identified areas for potential service improvements.
IPCM said it would continue exploring market opportunities while strengthening fleet reliability, workforce competence, safety and service quality through collaboration with strategic partners.
The company said the approach was intended to balance business expansion with operational excellence and support sustainable growth in Indonesia’s maritime services sector.
