Container throughput in the sub-holding of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) in the first semester of 2022 reached 5.3 million TEUs. SPTP noted that the container throughput grew by one percent compared to the same period in 2021.
“The container throughput consists of 1.67 million TEUs of overseas containers and 3.68 million TUEs of domestic containers from 27 container terminals managed by SPTP,” said SPTP Corporate Secretary Widyaswendra in a written statement on Monday (18/18). 7/2022).
He explained that the growth of domestic containers supported the increase in throughput. Widyaswendra said domestic throughput grew 1.32 percent compared to last year.
“Throughput for domestic containers, which experienced significant growth, was TPK Tenau Kupang with the growth of around 23.76 percent compared to last year,” explained Widyaswendra.
Widyaswendra detailed the throughput of overseas containers in the SPTP environment, consisting of 811,364 TEUs of imported containers, 860,267 TUEs of export containers, and 5,531 TEUs of transshipment containers.
Domestic containers consist of 1.76 million TEUs of unloaded containers, 1.76 million TEUs of loading, and 146,816 TEUs of transshipment containers.
He confirmed that currently, SPTP is still making transformation efforts. In particular, the company manages several transformations in the container terminal.
Widyaswendra emphasized that the transformation includes standardization and digitization of business processes, increasing competence, and optimizing operational workers. Likewise, with increasing the reliability of equipment supporting terminal activities.
