TPK Koja Expands ‘TEUs Bersinar’ Education Program

KSO Terminal Petikemas Koja (TPK Koja), a Pelindo – Hutchison joint operation container terminal, has expanded its “TEUs Bersinar” educational assistance program to 100 junior and senior high school students in and around Koja district, as the company broadens a community initiative that began at the junior high school level last year.

The program, part of TPK Koja’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiatives, provided tutoring support to 75 junior high school students from six schools in 2026. They were drawn from SMPN 84, SMPN 151, SMPN 173, SMPN 277, SMPN 279 and SMPS Ar-Raudhah.

This year, the program was extended to the senior high school level, reaching a further 25 students from SMAN 52, SMAN 73, SMAN 75, SMAN 92 and SMAN 110.

The expansion comes as students face increasing academic demands as they progress to higher levels of education. Alongside tutoring, TPK Koja provided study materials to help participants with their coursework.

The company also awarded scholarships to 47 junior high school students who achieved strong academic results in the previous semester.

TPK Koja’s corporate secretary said the expansion was intended to make the program more sustainable and focused on developing students’ capabilities rather than providing one-off assistance.

“We view ‘TEUs Bersinar’ not merely as a tutoring program, but as part of TPK Koja’s commitment to fostering human resource quality from an early stage,” the corporate secretary said.

“This year, we are continuing the program for junior high school students while expanding it to the senior high school level. We hope this support helps students develop their potential, improve their academic performance and prepare for the next stage of their education,” the secretary said.

The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education, which calls for inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.

TPK Koja said it intends for the program to focus increasingly on academic achievement, capacity building and self-reliance among students living near its operational area.

The company hopes the initiative will continue to support students as they pursue further education and prepare for employment and other challenges ahead.
