President Commissioner of PT PP (Persero), Andi Gani Nena Wea, personally inspected the ongoing development of Phases 1-2 of the Patimban Port located in Subang, West Java on Monday (13/11). The construction, estimated to be completed by 2025, includes the Package 6 project involving the addition of a Container Pier spanning 419 meters, reclamation for a 27-hectare Container Terminal, and dredging of the port’s navigation channel and basin to a depth of -14 meters.
Upon completion of Package 6, the terminal’s container capacity is expected to reach a total of 2 million TEUs, enabling the passage of giant container ships with a capacity of up to 4,600 TEUs and a size of 61,000 DWT.
Managed by PT PP Infra 2, a division of PT PP (Persero), this National Strategic Project with a budget of IDR 5.48 trillion commenced on January 5, 2023. Andi reported a progress rate of 18.1%, surpassing the planned 15.5%, positioning the project 2.6% ahead of schedule.
Andi emphasized the importance of maintaining work quality and safety throughout the 2.8-year construction period of Package 6. The completion of this phase will complement the preceding construction of a container pier (421 meters), reclamation of a container terminal (13 hectares), and dredging of the navigation channel to a depth of -10 meters.
Future Toll Access Road to Patimban Port
Additionally, plans for the toll access road to Patimban Port in Subang, West Java, are slated to begin in 2024. PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has been entrusted by the government to undertake this toll road project, designated as one of the National Strategic Projects with an investment value of IDR 882.6 billion. The specific work (Package 3 STA. 28+000 to STA. 33+500) covers a length of 5.5 kilometers and is scheduled to commence in early 2024, with a 700-day calendar timeline for completion.
