TPK Koja Operations Normal Amid Outsourced Worker Action

Terminal Petikemas Koja says vessel and container services continue normally as workers raise concerns during a transition involving operational support personnel

Terminal Petikemas Koja (TPK Koja) said on Monday (August 31) that terminal operations and services remained normal amid worker concerns and a transition involving the provision of operational support personnel.

The company said it had urged its outsourced manpower provider to open talks with workers following a request for negotiations over issues they had raised.

TPK Koja management said it respected workers’ right to express their concerns in accordance with applicable regulations and that dialogue should be used to resolve the issues.

The terminal operator said it had taken precautionary measures and coordinated with relevant parties to maintain safe and orderly operations.

Vessel services, container loading and unloading, receiving and delivery activities, as well as customer services, continued as usual, the company said.

“Our top priority is maintaining safety, security, operational continuity and service quality for our customers,” TPK Koja Corporate Secretary Safuan said. “At the same time, we respect the concerns raised and hope that any issues can be discussed through dialogue and established mechanisms.”

TPK Koja said it was continuing to monitor developments and strengthen coordination across operations, security, resources and communications.

The company said it had also prepared resource arrangements and escalation procedures should further developments require additional action.

TPK Koja said it remained committed to maintaining terminal operations and coordinating with relevant parties while the issues were addressed in accordance with applicable regulations.
