PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF), through its subsidiary PT Enseval Putera Megatrading Tbk (EPMT), namely PT Mostrans Global Digilog, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk (SMDR) to develop digital innovation in the logistics sector. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, SMDR will invest 20% of ownership in Mostrans.
“Disruption in the digital era creates new challenges in the logistics world. Kalbe and Samudera Indonesia’s collaboration through Mostrans is a strategic step to create a competitive advantage and will encourage faster digital transformation in the logistics sector,” said Kalbe Farma President Director Vidjongtius in a press release (8/8).
He also stated that through the synergy between Mostrans and Samudera Indonesia, this collaboration is believed to result in a more comprehensive digital technology-based innovation development strategy to improve performance in the logistics sector.
“Collaboration in implementing digital innovation in logistics transportation distribution activities is very strategic for the growth of the two companies,” added Samudera Indonesia President Director Bani Maulana Mulia. According to Bani, Kalbe is a proud Indonesian pharmaceutical company that is not only a market leader in Indonesia but has also penetrated the international market.
The collaboration between Kalbe and Samudera aims to strengthen the synergy of the advantages of each company. The distribution of Kalbe’s products in the domestic and export markets still has huge room for growth.
Meanwhile, Mostrans CEO Berty Argiyantari said that Mostrans has now created a solution in the form of a business-to-business (B2B) digital transportation platform to connect the health product supply chain ecosystem. Transparency and process simplification supported by information technology systems can help solve a number of challenges in the logistics sector.
“The innovation development strategy generated by the collaboration between Kalbe and Samudera through Mostrans will produce more comprehensive digital-based solutions to improve supply chain performance and increase the competitiveness of service users,” said Berty.
