IPC TPK Briefs Bappenas on Real-Time Port Operations

Indonesia National Development Planning Board Bappenas reviews terminal operations, digital systems and connectivity at Tanjung Priok to support more efficient logistics and regional economic development across Indonesia

IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) hosted officials from Bappenas at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta as part of a government review of regional connectivity and logistics development in western Indonesia.

The visit was part of Bappenas’ strategic coordination on regional connectivity aimed at increasing economic value-added in western Indonesia, with a focus on Jakarta province.

Officials visited IPC TPK’s Integrated Planning & Control room, where they reviewed real-time container loading and unloading operations, terminal productivity and cargo flows. The discussions also covered operational challenges, potential capacity improvements and the integration of digital systems used to manage port activities.

“We welcome and appreciate the visit by the Bappenas RI delegation to IPC TPK’s Integrated Planning & Control room,” said Daniel Setiawan, senior manager of corporate secretary at IPC TPK.

“Through digitalization and real-time system monitoring, IPC TPK remains committed to enhancing operational efficiency and the reliability of loading and unloading services,” he said.

The Bappenas team was briefed on the terminal’s cargo flows, productivity levels and port digitalization systems, which IPC TPK said are important to maintaining the movement of goods through western Indonesia.

Discussions focused on improving connections between maritime and land transport, optimizing terminal capacity and reducing logistics costs. Operational data gathered during the visit is expected to provide input for Bappenas as it develops regional development and connectivity policies.

The visit brought together national policymakers and a terminal operator to discuss conditions at one of Jakarta’s key container facilities. Better integration of maritime and land connectivity could help improve the movement of goods, strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian products and support economic growth across regions, IPC TPK said.

“IPC TPK is ready to provide active contributions, factual data, and constructive input to Bappenas RI,” Daniel said. “We are optimistic that the results of this review and strategic coordination will yield policy recommendations that strengthen maritime connectivity, optimize value-added in Western Indonesia, and realize a national logistics ecosystem that is increasingly efficient, reliable, and highly competitive.”
