Revenue and EBITDA growth support stronger nine-month earnings, while the Indonesia’s leading shipping company expands its fleet with five new vessels expected to enter service from 2027

PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk. reported an 18% increase in net profit to $50.9 million for the nine months ended September 2026, supported by higher revenue and operating earnings as the shipping company continued expanding its regional operations.

Samudera’s shipping network currently covers 28 countries, serving 59 ports through 40 routes across Southeast Asia, the Far East, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and intra-European markets.

The company is also expanding its fleet, having ordered five vessels from China, comprising three container ships and two chemical tankers.

The vessels are intended to serve international routes as well as domestic markets in Indonesia and Japan. Samudera expects deliveries to begin in 2027, Bani said.

The fleet expansion comes as Indonesia continues developing its port infrastructure, including the addition of superstructure facilities at Patimban Port, which are expected to arrive soon.

The new vessels are expected to strengthen the company’s shipping capacity and broaden its operational reach as it seeks to capture demand across Asian markets.

Samudera’s investment plans reflect its focus on Indonesia and Southeast Asia, while maintaining connections with major international shipping markets.

The company did not disclose the total investment value of the five new vessels or provide further details on their individual capacity and deployment schedules.
