PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Implements E-Ticketing System at Tanjungkalian Port

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has introduced an E-ticketing system at Tanjungkalian Port in the West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, starting from Friday, November 3, 2023. This digital transformation initiative is not only a legal compliance measure but also aims to support regional economic development through logistics services and popular tourist destinations, according to Shelvy Arifin, Corporate Secretary of ASDP.

The acceleration of digital innovation is based on regulations, including the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. 25/2016 on Passenger and Vehicle Lists for Crossings, Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. 28/2016 on the Obligation for Ferry Passengers to Have Tickets, and the Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. PM 19/2020 on the Implementation of Electronic Ferry Tickets.

Shelvy noted that ASDP, in collaboration with its ferry partners, is improving the governance of cross-border transportation to facilitate smooth logistics between regions. The digital transformation initiative includes enhancing data manifest accuracy, operational management, and ferry terminal services, regulating unauthorized practices around the ports, safety management, optimizing ferry supervision, handling vehicles carrying hazardous goods, and more.

ASDP recognizes that the “go show” or on-site ticket purchase system can lead to congestion and even inconvenience for customers who have traveled from afar and run out of tickets. Therefore, the swift implementation of the Ferizy application is essential to make service users feel more comfortable, secure, and mitigate potential irregularities at the ferry terminals.

After previously digitizing 17 ports, Tanjungkalian Port is the next in line to implement an online ticket purchase system through trip.ferizy.com in November 2023.

“Since 2020, ASDP has consistently increased the number of ports implementing Ferizy. As of the end of October 2022, 17 ports had adopted e-ticketing, and this November, it will be launched at Tanjungkalian Port,” Shelvy announced.

Online reservations at Tanjungkalian Port will be available for the Tanjungkalian-Tanjung Api-api route, offering various payment methods, including virtual accounts at Bank BRI, Mandiri, BNI, BCA, Permata Bank, Maybank, BSI, Danamon, CIMB Niaga, BTPN, Bank Maspion, BTN, and Pospay. Payments can also be made through e-wallets like linkAja, Shopee Pay, blu BCA digital, OVO, and Dana. This wide range of payment options aims to provide passengers with more flexibility according to their bank or e-wallet preferences.

From January to October 2023, 140,516 passengers and 82,958 vehicles have crossed, including 19,285 two-wheelers and 63,673 four-wheelers.

Considering the significant number of passengers and vehicles, ASDP encourages travelers to plan their journeys well in advance. The online ticket reservation is available 60 days before departure, and it is expected to alleviate congestion at the ferry terminal.
